moreResolved Question: First Time On Plane: Things I cannot bring?
Hi,
I'm about to make my first trip out of the country (to Guatemala), let alone on a plane, for a 2-week trip. We have to pack as tight as possible. I have some questions about things I CAN and CANNOT put in a checked luggage.
1.) My checked luggage is a duffel bag. Inside of it, I have a smaller bag for clothes and am using a shoe box (without the cover) to hold my personal hygiene chemicals (which I have all wrapped in a bag).
QUESTION: Is Security likely to give me a hassle because I am using a shoe box?
2.) Is it okay for me to bring a complete bottle of shampoo (13.5 fl oz), facial soap/body wash (5oz), and aloe vera gel (6oz)?
3.) This is a list of the other personal hygiene products that I am bringing, excluding those in #2. Please let me know what items may prove problematic, or you suggest I put in my carry-on:
*2 insect repellants (1fl oz/each)
*a bottle of water purifying tablets unopened and still in its case
*a case with a nail clipper, a tweezer, safety pins, and paper clips
*deodorant (.5oz)
*a small case of camp soap sheets
*first aid kit
*face-cleaning towelettes
*a body pouf in a sandwich ziplock bag
*a bag of mint flossups
*toothbrush and case holder
*a bottle of sunscreen (6fl oz)
*a water bottle with filter
*a battery-run fan
*2 disposable razors
*toothpaste (4.6 oz)
*6-inch flashlight with case
4.) Do I HAVE TO put my digital camera batteries in my carry-on?
Anything else I should know, on the top of your mind?
Thanks all! :)

moreResolved Question: TMJ or TMD and dental care...couldn't get xrays...?
I have had TMJ for a few years. My dentist recently changed to a new digital type of xray that uses a frame to hold the device in your mouth. The last time I was barely able to open my mouth to allow the xray to sit properly. This time the dental hygienist pushed on my jaw and the jaw spasmed to badly that I gagged and was unable to get xrays. Is there a smaller digital xray I could ask for or maybe a smaller adaptor? I also have to have 1 cavity and another cavity (or crown) in the next few weeks. I was told the minimum amount of time would be 90 min for the cavity (difficult to get to). I'm really dreading my next visit. Is there anything I can do to have a less traumatic experience next time? Medication? Bite block? Help!
moreResolved Question: Can I bring my Wii on the airplane with me?
I want to bring my Wii with me. I will also have my laptop, its chill mat, my digital camera, and charger for my laptop. Will the Wii, and I'm also bringing two of my wii remotes/wheel and a gamecube controller, fit in my backpack with the rest of that stuff? I don't want to risk putting it in my luggage cause it might get broken, stolen, or lost (last december the airline I was riding lost my luggage when I was returning home.) So I don't want to risk that. Will the Wii or sensor bar get broken while going through the X-ray? Will security confiscate it or something? Will I have to take it out of my bag like I had to with my laptop on previous trips? What about the games? Should I just put the discs in one of those dvd holders and then put it in my carry on?
Thanks.

moreResolved Question: i need answers! please and don't sugar coat. tell it like it is.?
So i am pretty sure I have a cavity in my tooth. It has been hurting a little bit.Not much to where it needs a pain reliever and it does go away.It doesn't hurt when i bite down on something or when i rub my tongue against it nor does it hurt when i drink hot/cold things.
I have a few questions so bear with me.
#1: does the nitrious oxide calm you down? I have SEVERE anxiety and i dont want to have a panic attack or throw up when i am there.
#2: how long does it take to fill a cavity? (on average)
#3: how do they sterilize those little card things they put in your mouth when they take x rays..or are they one time use only?
its been forever since i last went and i am so dam nervous and i havent even made an appointment yet! fixin to in a little bit when they open.
Also.is discoloration normal? my father has a few teeth that are a bluish/grey color on one side of the tooth towards the gums.my first thought was nerve damage so when i asked him he said that the doctor said that it was fine and probably caused by the filing.
well it got me kinda worried because the tooth that is hurting me (second to last on the bottom back) has discoloration by the gum line area.its actually been that way for two years or so and havent been having pain up until 6 months ago.
is this normal? i mean..people say that when you need a route canal you have pretty bad pain but mine is not bad at all.
i am praying to god it is a simple cavity fix because I cannot stay in that chair for a long period of time!
thanks for the replies.the greying of the tooth is only on one side and doesn't wrap around the whole tooth.
and i also cannot get medication for anxiety before!!
does the nitrous make you nauseas at all by the way?
that is the reason why i have anxiety i am afraid i am going to throw up!
moreResolved Question: Cokin Filters A & P series is one replacing the other?
I have a Fuji S9600 and was recently given a Cokin A series filter holder and some filters which I have enjoyed using. I put a ND2 Graduated filter on my birthday list and when Hubby went out to get it today the helpful person in the camera shop said that Cokin A series is no longer being produced and offered him a P series starter kit instead.
I have also heard that the A series filters also fit the P series filter if you use an additional adapter.
Any way I am now completely confused as to whether I should stick with my A series set or change to a P series .
Incidentally the Fuji S9600 has a 28-300mm lens and the A series doesn't quite work with the camera when set at the shortest focal length, basically the lens picks up part of the filter in the shot, it only disappears when the lens is set at around 35 mm.
Gosh I hope what I have just written makes sense to someone!

moreResolved Question: X-ray damage of throat organ and tissue?
When a digital dental x-ray is taken, the CCD sensor is contained in a while transparent plastic holder, and the patient holds it by a handle. It is known the bone and the teeth block some of the x-rays during exposure. What if the patient’s mouth is open during the exposure? Will the scattered x-ray damage the organs and the tissues in the throat, since these parts are more vulnerable to x-ray?
