Resolved Question: For All Alcoholics - How Do You Manage / Fit Your Addiction Into Your Daily Life?

To start off, I consider myself an alcoholic. On average, I get drunk 4 - 5 times a week during the summer, and 3 times a week during the school year. I'm working as a server at a hotel during the summer, so with a staff pub nearby there's no shortage of opportunities to go out drinking with my friends and also no shortage of people to pre-drink with. Obviously, working the next day after drinking is hell for me (especially when I work breakfast shifts), but to manage and hide the fact that I drank a lot the previous night I write myself reminders to chug water when I get back home after drinking. In the morning I take tylenol, chug more water, drink rock star and coffee to raise my energy levels, and have a large breakfast. If necessary I will puke before I eat breakfast and go to work. I also avoid starting at people / looking into their eyes when I talk to them so they can't see how tired I am / how bloodshot my eyes are. At school I drink less often so that I can keep my marks up. On the weekends I sleep in as late as I want and do homework by myself (after a night of drinking) so people don't know I'm really hung over. If I have to go morning class after a night of drinking, I'll use the same techniques listed above to hide the fact that I had an episode of binge drinking the night before. Even though word gets around that I drank a lot at pub, I use these techniques to hide my hang overs and manage during the day, so that I can keep my job / stay at school regardless of my alcoholism. Even though I know drinking is hazardous to my health, I try my best to fit in my drinking into my work schedule and academic life. How do you manage / fit your alcoholism into your daily life?Also I've gotta add that I set 5 alarms in the morning to ensure I don't oversleep work or class! more

I work at Tim Hortons. I weigh 240lbs and am 5'4. I find work exhausting and very painful (40 hours of standing a week). I would like to lose weight and I know my current diet is a large part of this problem. An average day for me is wake up at 12:30, leave and walk to the bus 20 minutes later. Eat yogurt and drink tea on bus. Eat a bagel with half amount of cream cheese and tomato (I'm being honest here, I know bagels and cream cheese have to go). I work from 2-10pm I have a half hour break with access to hot water and a microwave. Usually I'll heat up something from home like pasta and beans or eat yet another bagel. Every other day I might drink an energy drink too like rock star or steeped tea with milk. Unfortunately, every shift I'm entitled to a free donut, timbits, and muffin, which I feel I have to take cause its free and its a waste to leave it, I usually end up eating some of it on my break or before bed. I do drink quite a bit of water during my shift, but apparently my thirst etc. is most likely a symptom of type 2 diabetes :( After work I always feel the need for another meal. Liptons chicken noodle soup and crackers and cheese, pasta with tomato sauce or romano/chick peas, McDonald's, pizza, some of my meals involve salads or cooked fish but that's more likely once every couple Weeks. I feel like I can't sleep without loading up on carbs. I usually take a shower, do a load of laundry, some minor chores and read a book to unwind and fall asleep by 4am. I'm looking for recipes that I can either make in bulk on my days off or in 30 minutes the night before that can add some nutrition to my life and some energy. Thanks more

So my girlfriend brought me a energy drink during lunch at school that she bought the day before , its a 16 ounce caffien based "rock star" brand, and apparently one of the ingredients is taurine. Well, let me explain this whole week. Friday was my birthday party, and i smoked about a whole bowl of Marijuana, so pretty much 2 bong bowls. i smoked a pretty big joint, i smoked 3 really stuffed bowls, and basically. I know i smoked the joint last, and after that joint i passed out. I woke up, tired, and i still had that high, which lasted for me for about 8 hours. We had about 1 amp shot each, 1 rock star, and 3 monsters. after that, every night i'd go out and have a bowl, or a bong of tobacco. my question is. I've been feeling well, different all week. like i can't feel things as well as i used to. also i had diarrhea when i drank the energy drinks. this "high" if you will, feels like a really light marijuana high. what do you all think it is? I sorta feel heavy. and after i smoke the tobacco, i feel dizzy, disoriented, and what not. what can it be?I am not addicted to Marijuana, and actually. So stop saying I am.
