I've been looking for a new foundation to use. i tried bare minerals, and it was ok, but not great. I've been looking at getting Urban Decay Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup, but i hate to shell out $30 + shipping ( no Sephora were i live :( for something i may hate. I have some redness and some acne that i want to cover up, will that do work? i also like the fact that Urban Decay is No-Cruelty and paraben free. Okay, so I have used just about every possible makeup brand out there but for some reason none of them are working for me! I've tried Neutrogena, Maybelynne (although I love their mascara), Sephora brand (which was AMAZING, but they are discontinuing the powder I use!), and a couple other brands. I would loooove something that I could just get at Target or drugstores. And please don't say Bare Minerals, because I know it might work good but it's too expensive! I have very fair skin, so a brand that has very pale tones would be good :) also I have combination skin and I prefer a compact powder, instead of loose. So here are my questions: 1. What brand(s) would you recommend? 2. Do you recommend the entire brand for foundation and powder, or just a particular product? 3. What mascara would you recommend? Okay so i've been saving up money to start a collection of M.A.C. brushes. Before i've just been using the brushes that came with the Bare Minerals kit, and whatever brush that came with the eye shadows i buy. But now i want to start using the right products since im getting into makeup more. So far ive been listing the types i know i need such as a kabooki brush, an angled, blending, crease, highlight, and smudge eyeshadow brush, a blush brush, and a bronzer brush (is that all right?).. I don't want to go all over board and get unnecessary things tho, haha. I love bare minerals, but it's way too expensive. I'm trying to find a similar alternative (When I say similar, I mean for the same reasons I like it, not because it's a powder). The reasons I like it are: I can put on a very thin layer of makeup and it covers everything very well; it looks natural to the point where people don't even believe I'm wearing makeup; lastly, it actually matches my skin tone. I'm very pale, and sometimes it's hard to match my skin tone. I tried the lightest tone of Maybelline's "Mineral Power" powder foundation and it not only looked a bit orange on my skin, I was unsatisfied with the product. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! I don't care if it's powder or liquid.I don't know why I'm getting suggestions for makeup that is far more expensive than bare minerals. I want something CHEAPER. It doesn't have to be mineral makeup either. I just want something that looks natural. So I bought the MAC MSF Natural back in January because I have heard a lot of great things about it so I thought i would try it out. I'm only 14 so I don't wear makeup like everyday, I only put it on when I have time in the morning before school. So between January and now I have only put it on about 6 times. The first couple of times i put it on it didn't irritate my skin, but then it started to make the bottom of my checks and the sides of my nose itch/burn. I'm not sure if one of the ingredients is causing this or if its because i have dry skin. I'm sad because i bought this with my own money and I don't think I can return it now, I bought it at a Nordstrom. What do you think? Has anyone been having this problem too? I have normal to dry skin. I moisturise my face every morning but still have dry skin on my T-zone. i exfoliate when I can but it causes me to breakout and leaves my skin irritated so i dont like doing it, i do it maybe once a week/fortnight. The weird thing is when i put on foundation (ive tried cheap and expensive brands) after an hour or two my face turns into an oily orange streaky mess even though I applied it perfectly and set it with powder and use pale shades. I have used Bare Minerals and now using Pysician's Formula mineral makeup but both make my skin oil by mid-day. Before the foundation I only use moisturizer and a tinted one. Is this a good routine, or am I just making my skin unhealthy. I'm in high school, so I'm not that young. ~ I apply Aveeno's Moisturizing Lotion before applying any makeup. ~I apply Covergirl's Aqua Smooth Creations Creme Foundation. ~I apply True Blend Mineral Powder from Covergirl Blush. Its a light shimmery brown blush. ( I'm Greek.) ~I apply a THIN line of Maybelliene's Everlasting liquid eyeliner to JUST the bottom. ~I sometimes apply a shimmery neutral colored eyeshadow. I wear chap stick, sometimes I'll wear a little tan shimmer gloss. I don't wear mascara. I naturally have very long dark eyelashes. Okay. I like this routine. But the makeup is pretty obvious. I tried some from a friend and it worked wonders on my combination skin (oily T-zone with normal/dry cheeks) Now I find out it has been discontinued. I can buy some through ebay for $11 a bottle but what good will it do me if I can't buy more in the future. So I was wondering if there is anyone out there who knows of something similar to it. I've tried Neutrogena Pore Refining toner with Neutrogena Moisture Oil Free Formula, Sensitive Skin and it is just too much for my pores. The toner dries my skin out too much and then the lotion oils it up. It seemed like the Phisoderm's main ingredient - Polyglutamic Acid helped to actually stop my pores from being overactive. It is only available in Phisoderm unless to try to get some serum from Japan for $48/ 1 oz. I'm trying to actually change my skin before attempting makeup again. When I wear the mineral makeup it does ok but I'm constantly blotting and reapplying and I really don't have time for that. Y! I have incredibly pale, dead white skin (like redhead/goth pale, except I am neither). I am looking for a foundation and concealer to match my skin ton, but I'm having a horrible time finding anything. Right now I'm using the tiniest dusting of CoverGirl mineral foundation (in the palest shade the carry), but if I put enough on to even out my skin, I get a very noticeable ring around my face. I also have very very dry skin, so liquid/whipped/cream-to-powder foundation would be the best, but it's all too dark! I have some acne scars on my cheeks I'm trying to cover up, along with a perpetually red nose, otherwise I'd just not wear any. I tend to break out, and the medication I use dries out my skin. I moisturize regularly and it works pretty well, but I notice by the end of the day my makeup gets dry and cakey, especially where I'm prone to dry skin. Right now I'm using MAC Studio Finish concealer on my red spots, and then I set that with Benefit powder. Does anyone have any better suggestions? I dont have any pimples, but me and my friend were filming a video and put on alot of foundation. You know sleepovers, you never really brush or wash your face like you usually would. I woke up and my skin was rough and bumpy. I used the "wave" to exfoliate, (didnt help) put on Dove, sensative skin lotion. i have been washing and moisturizing it every day for the past week and nothing heppens. i had REALLY soft skin, I want it back! Okay so my make up routine now is: 1.) Foundation (bare minerals) 2.) Black eyeliner on the bottom of my eyes (waterline, half way under my waterline, & a really small wing, barely even really a wing) 3.) Mascara (Lash blast, Stiletto, & Revlon double twist. I know it's a lot, i just barely have noticeable eyelashes. I'm up for fake eyelashes or whatever ha ha) My mom always tells me my makeup on my eyes looks to dark. I'm fine with my foundation, it's just i don't want my eye makeup to come off to hard. Please give suggestions!(: I want something that will bring a lot of attention to my eyes, because they look very weird and ugly plain if that makes since ha ha. I heard that white eyeliner makes your eyes look bigger so maybe that's an option? I'm 14 and have straight dirty blonde hair below my boobs and the bottom half is dyed dark brown if that helps. Hello, Im looking for a make up that is talc free and lets you try it before you buy it. Has anyone used shaklee minerelles make up and think its worth the money? Im hearing alot from the bare minerals and dinair airbrush makeup. Im a girl that wants colors that are pretty whether you are wearing a t-shirt or a formal. What about this JANE make up in the stores? I want as least harmful chemicals as I can. The biggest problem I have is dark circles under my eyes. I dont break out easily so thats not a problem. I have scars on my face and I need to cover them. I've been using Physician's Formula Talc-Free mineral foundation but I didn't like it so much because it looked kind of gray, but the formula is good. I also tried Revlon Colorstay mineral powder, and it was awful. Bare minerals and bare escentuals broke me out. And at the moment I'm using Maybelline mineral foundation, but they don't have a shade light enough for me (I'm not even super pale) so I have to use it very sparingly. I have oily skin and a significant amount of scarring, but they're not really dark scars. Needs to be under $20 but can be drugstore or online. Thanks for your help! Also side note I am only interested in powder...not "liquid mineral makeup" or anything. And I have too much scarring to use a lot of concealer because I would end up looking cakey. Hii All, I'm a girl and I'm 13 so I dont realy want anything liquid or clogging. I was wondering which foundation you use and why. I was thinking of buying some Nude By Nature or Sheer Cover makeup, I use maxfactor at the moment. So I am using this skin clearing stuff and my skin is SO DRY!! I have an amazing moisturiser which is really helping (so I won't be changing that) but my skin in still super dry to the point where it can be red and slightly painful. Im searching for some good foundation and mineral foundation powder to set the foundation up. I sweat a lot since Im a student and I had to go through a lot of fisical education too.
