Im planning to get a thrush glasspack for my rabbit because its cheap and im hoping to get a more throaty grumbly sound rather than a mean m5 sound like what most exhausts ive heard for rabbits, the problem is its a single tip outlet so i was wondering if its possible to keep the dual exhaust tips that comes stock with the rabbit because they look so much better than single tips. 1. could i go to a shop and tell them if they could put a Y pipe for the outlet so that i could keep the dual tips 2. would it sound messed up because the glasspack is originaly a single outlet ? 3. maybe some suggestions to get the same sound im looking for, and also pretty cheap.also i know that thrush sells dual tip versions of the glasspack but i would rather buy it localy than get it shipped to me and i have yet to see a dual outlet version on the shelves. thanks! more

93 k1500 5.7l 350 engine. I just had the oil pan replaced because it was rusted out. It costed me 418 dollars that included the pan, gasket, and oil change (not bad). Anyways, I notice a drone inside the cab at a higher rpm and sometimes at a lower rpm. I've never had this before they put on a new oil pan. I do have a thrush welded muffler single in dual out exhaust. But it was always quiet inside the cab. I didnt ask them if they pulled the engine or dropped the axle to do the pan. If they pulled the engine, could they have did something to the exhaust thats making it this way? I do have a broken flange on the manifold, but it was welded with a split flange and its sealed. I hear no exhaust leaks and the engine area is quiet. I hear no unordinary sounds except this drone that happens inside the cab. I checked all the hangers and nothings loose or missing. more

so far got tinted front lights, stock rims painted black and getting a thrush turbo muffler on tuesday. 1. window tint - but my states law is only 50% and imo 50% doesn't look very nice i prefer just untinted....is that okay? or do i need to tint 50% all the way around? 2. Was gonna get dual exhaust but its too expensive for me, so just installing a new high flow muffler in my stock single exhaust to make it sound better, is that okay? Got my project car going and after I break in this engine I will be taking it to the races shortly. I want to be able to push it, but I don't want to over rev and blow the thing to hell after spending over a year on it. Specs: Chevy 350 stock bore/stroke, flat top pistons, RHS heads, 10:1 compression, will run 93 octane gas, comp motha thumpa cam 292, stock rockers, valve springs to match, edelbrock dual pane performer intake, edelbrock 650 carb, stock exhaust manifolds (only thing that would fit) 2.5 inch exhaust with 2 thrush mufflers, stock ignition for the moment. What do you guys think I should be putting as a red line for this kind of set up? Most everything has max potential from 2500-6500 rpm according to summit when I purchased it, but can the engine handle revving to 6500 without going up in smoke? more

Resolved Question: Engine running too rich with Edelbrock 650 carb?

I currently have a Chevy 350.. Specs: Stock bore and crank, freshly rebuilt maybe 10 miles on the engine an hour or so run time, flat top pistons, RHS heads 10:1 compression, Comp cam 292 duration 501 lift, valve springs to match, edelbrock performer dual pane intake, edelbrock 4 barrel 650 cfm carburetor, stock ignition for the moment, stock exhaust manifolds (only thing that will fit in this vehicle) 2.5 inch exhaust run all the way back with 2 thrush mufflers.. Okay... it seems while the car is idling it has a little bit of a backfire to it. Before I tuned the carb if I got on the gas it seemed to hesitate a tad and horrible smell of gas. Now I have both screws turned in all the way and idle lower (no rpm gauge yet so no clue what it's idling at) but the gas is much more touchy and it seemed to help but I just can't get rid of this little backfire. Is it because I have not upgraded the ignition yet, maybe because I am running 89 octane fuel should I be running higher octane for this engine? Anyone know of any other reason why it seems like I am still running a little rich or if I should keep it this way just in case the car leans out a little with throttle? My fuel pressure gauge registers between 5 and 6 psi.I will also note that the carburetor is new, so shouldnt be in need of a rebuild more

Resolved Question: What is causing my 94 dodge dakota to have so many problems?

I have been having a lot of trouble with my truck lately lacking power and having low fuel economy. On a trip to take my wife to a job interview down the interstate it started grinding under the hood, then popping like popcorn underneath with a sound like something dragging as well and backfiring with black smoke. We pulled over and I laid down beside it on the passenger side and nothing was visibly dragging. I then had her rev the engine and the popcorn sound sounded like it was in the exhaust pipe around the cat converter and muffler. I also noticed silver glitter (?) coming out of the tailpipe. Several months back I replaced the cat converter because it was busted up. After starting it back up it ran somewhat normal for maybe 1000 feet and then did the above again and then the speedometer needle dropped and the tachometer got stuck at 3000 rpm and wouldn't go back down even when the truck tried to die. We managed to get it all the way back home some of the way having to drive down the side of the road since the pedal was to the floor and it just wouldn't go. Fuel pump was checked and it was good. That's about all I know. I live with a couple people who are going to look at it when they get some more time. Just want to see if anyone has any ideas of what it might be although I'm sure the possibilities are darn near infinite.also when starting for the first time in several hours it grinds really bad and refuses to start, then after a few minutes starts just fine. There's only a little noise and shaking when idling with slight engine revs every so often.it's a V6 3.9L engine more

I have a 98 jeep Cherokee sport classic 3" lift and Im wanting to give her a boost. What would you recommend as far as after market parts and witch brand. I bought a welded thrush muffler and the lift about 2 months ago. I want so new parts to get more horsepower and torque and I do not want to murder my MPG. Nothing to crazy and expensive, I plan to do a few projects a month myself to save money and give me something to do on the weekends. I would like to know the order in witch to buy and install these parts as well. My budget would be something like $400-500 every two weeks to work with and I do not want to get everything all at once.
