Open Question: Fused bone chip on a horse?

Alright, so, I'm very experienced with horses, and was looking at a very cute off the track Thoroughbred. He has a fused bone chip in his left knee, and has never been lame on it. Because of it, his current owners will not sell him as a jumper/eventer prospect, which is understandable considering they want to be as honest and up front as possible. Now, my question is, I have a horse(I've had him five years) who has a fused bone chip in his stifle. We had it xrayed six ways to Sunday and the vet finally said that the older he got, the less of a chance there would be that it would ever bother him, and even if it did, a $1500 dollar surgery had a 99% recovery rate, and he would most likely be back to full use with no restrictions. Said horse and I are competing successfully at Preliminary(3'6-3'9) eventing, and he has NEVER had an issue. My only hesitation is, is that the knee is a MUCH more active joint, and I don't necessarily want to buy something which risks me paying for a surgery, especially not when the surgery costs more than the horse in the first place. What do you guys think? Is it worth the risk? Have you heard any success stories, or not so successful stories? Any input is greatly appreciated! Hey! So after being told to go for it by many, many people, I'm applying for modelling tomorrow I think. Some of the major agencies in the city accept normal digital camera pics, and you email them to them. Thing is, we have 2 cameras (nothing too fancy), one is broken so the one we have isn't great quality... Some of the agencies say take 2 pictures, one headshot, natural light, no make up, and one full length shot. So my mom was gonna help me take 2 pictures. Here's the issue..what should I wear? I have gorgeous khaki skinny jeans, ankle booties, heels.. a nice knee lengh coral tight dress that looks nice with my natural tan. Should I wear heels or ankle booties with a little heel? Skinny jeans? Dress? Tights? My room is all white so I'm taking it against that background. If the quality isn't nice I'm gonna get in touch and ask about casting days.. what do I wear to them? Hi, well I really love 1940s/1950s dresses, but when I wear one I just feel like such a pratt! I hate dresses that come above the knee, 1) because I don't have very nice knees and 2) because I would just feel slutty wearing anything above the knee, so I always buy vintage style dresses. I never wear very girly clothing, just jeans, and a kinda tie up cardigan with a pretty tshirt under neath and I feel really comfortable and casual, but if i even try to wear a pretty dress, no matter how casual it looks i just feel like the odd one out, because most girls these days wear short skirts, (if they do wear skirts). Open Question: How should I fix my hair? I need help!?

So, every year we have this Masquerade Ball at our Home school co-op thing. So this year I cannot think of ANY way to fix my hair, the first year I didn't do anything with it, just left it down (haunting memories), the next year I put it in a bun and curled pieces that I pulled out, last year I just plain curled it, and this year I for sure want it down, not up. Resolved Question: Which beginning catches your attention more?

Hey guys :) At the moment, I am writing two stories - technically, they are the same story but told in two different points of view, simply because I can't decide which I prefer. So I'm leaving it up to you - which should I continue writing? I like both the same, and am about the same number of words into each. They both follow the same storyline and with the same characters, but #2 misses out a chapter and gets to the action a little quicker, whereas #1 is a little more detailed with the backstory: #1 - Third Person POV Anyone would have been forgiven for thinking that the house was empty. It certainly did not look lived in. The chimney, which should have been streaming with the gentle waves of smoke, produced nothing. The windows were black, dark and blank; it was almost as if they too were in mourning. Within the house the possessions did remain but were unnaturally neat. Photos were placed at perfect angles upon the tables and walls. DVDs were lined up along the shelf in the living room; the first dozen were in perfect order, as if someone tried arranging them but then gave up. Not a speck of dust could be seen, and the only hint of family living within that house was one photograph which had been purposefully moved from the mantelpiece. It now stood in the centre of the coffee table next to a ruby-red book, highlighted by a beam of moonlight creeping through the gap in the drawn curtains. In the picture there was a police officer with a huge grin upon his face with a teenage girl hugged close into him. She was wearing his hat. Their identical blue eyes sparkled with the same pride; he was happy to now be a police officer, and she was overwhelmed that her father’s hard work had finally paid off. Anyone would also be forgiven for thinking that the girl in the photograph and the one who sat huddled in the darkness of the living room were different people. Rhian now looked like a ghost of her former self. It was almost as if the girl who smiled from the photos was someone else – she barely even recognised herself. Her brunette hair, laden with grease from lack of attention, now appeared black. Her eyes did shine but this time from tears, and instead of being complimented by rosy cheeks they were now on a stark backdrop of pale skin and black rings. Rhian sat with her knees pulled up tight against her chest as if she was trying to make herself as small and invisible as possible. Her arms were folded over her bent knees and her tired eyes gazed over the top of her arms, staring at the photograph on the coffee table. She had packed it, taken it out, packed it and then once again removed it. She simply could not decide if she wanted to cling onto the memories. If she wanted the photograph she could always come back and get it, but if she wanted it and it wasn’t there… Rhian sighed and unfolded her body, swiped the photo off the table, placed it in the nearest bag and then resumed her former position. This time she gazed longingly out of the window, where the hills of Wales were nothing but black silhouettes against the cloudless, star-filled sky. #2 - First Person POV Of all places I thought I’d end up I never expected ending up here: standing on a bridge in the rain in the middle of an insignificant Welsh town, staring longingly at the dark, cold, merciless river below. Every night I’d come home, try to rush through my mountains of homework but then have to abandon it to tend to my elderly granddad who was slowly forgetting everything he had once known and loved. Every night I’d have to tell him that his son (my dad) would not be coming; he died a few weeks ago. Every night I would have to tell him that his daughter-in-law had left years ago, and then every day I had to explain to my angry and concerned teachers why the work was not complete; I couldn’t muster the strength or confidence to tell them how stressed and lonely I felt during every waking hour I spent at home. When granddad died it came as a relief. I missed him dearly, of course I did, but somehow I was glad he was finally at peace. In fact it felt as if I had not lost him recently – I had lost him three months ago when his memory began to fade. That didn't stop me from aching for him now, aching for him and dad. In his old age he had become even more adamant that there was a curse on the family, and often yelled at I to stay out of the room because he claimed he could see the “ghost”, the ghost of a frail old woman which family legend says would kill the moment someone clapped eyes on her. Since she immediately killed everyone who saw her, I often wondered where exactly the tales came from. Needless to say I quickly debunked his theory. more

I'm trying to make a new monster for my friends. It's going to have four long legs that are slanted forwards, two tails that intertwine and wrap around each other, huge back legs, big claws on all of it's feet (They'll be bigger on the front), blank white eyes, a black coat with small smudges of grey or silver, spikes along the neck, knees, tail, and spine, and long, pointy teeth that resemble those of a pacific viperfish (Some pictures of the teeth are at: http://fishes-world.blogspot.com/2013/02/pacific-viperfish.html) The creature will be able to stand on it's hind legs like a grizzly bear to swat at things or to get a better view of something. Open Question: What is it? - Some sort of rash on arms?

Hello, I got this rash thing a while ago, but it wasnt as big or bad as it is now and its getting bigger and spreading into other areas. The picture shows the one in my elbow joint on my right arm, i have one starting as little spots on my left arm and theres one started on my wrist. also i have one on each of my legs, behind the knee joint. I've been to the doctors and he's givers me some cream to put onto them and that i shouldn't need to use much of it and only take a few days to go... i've used the whole cream, and its been almost a month now and no difference, just got worse. I more just want those well defined gluteal folds, like in the picture because I think they are amazing and sexy! And it would also be nice to have a toned 'bubble butt' like that. But what exercises will help me achieve this? Also, I am not going to the gym, just doing the exercises in my bedroom of a night, so I have no machines or weights. At the moment I am doing body weight squats, donkey kicks, hip thrusts with single leg lifts, front lunges, toe taps, 'fire hydrants' and step ups onto a chair. Will these work? I do not need really to lose weight or burn fat, I am already 52kgs and 171cm tall. I am a little concerned about a few areas though, as I feel they are building up too much. One of my main concerns in the outer thigh muscle on the front of the leg, where it meets the knee, (which creates that little ditch beside the knee cap), that protrudes quite a bit and it is muscle, not fat. I feel like it looks horrible and unfeminine. I cannot currently find a picture online which shows it so hopefully you will be able to figure out what I mean. In handful I put every item in my Nike backpack . I glanced again to the old lady, she wasn't moving, she laid with her face on the wooden floor. I turned her over, she was dead. Cold. I stared at her and my ADD captured the shiny golden object in her hand, she held it loosely. I slowly grab the object in her hand as if she were still alive. It was a necklace, clearly gold . They were holding hands and on the opposite side of the picture was engraved a quote, “Always and forever Y” and under the quote engraved in fine small script font was the name “Dave” . Dave. Where is Dave? I ran out of the condo as fast as I could, bumping into every piece of furniture . I was afraid Dave her husband would return home. The tragedy he would see entering his bedroom. Mother. I remembered suddenly walking in a room a couple years back and finding her dead, she laid almost naked in her room, needles covered the floor and the odor of piss , she overdosed. Dead. I continued running and as I grabbed the handle of the Front glass door lights so bright blinded me for a couple second leaving me shock .Jail. The neighbors had called the cops when they heard a loud shriek come from the Johnson's home, the report said. I awaited my sentence as I sat in a wooden bench in the Palm Bay court room. In the room was the judge ,few guards , Johnson's neighbors and a man sitting in the last row. I pleaded guilty, I received my sentence of 20 years in prison and the two guards held my elbows and led me out the door, I glanced at the neighbors, and then at the man in the back row for a split second. My ADD again captured another bright object, this time not the color gold, Crystal blue. His eyes. Prison. The place I have always feared. Nothing like juvenile detention , there at least they treat you like human beings. Alone. No one talked or looked at me for almost 5 years, I did'nt join any gang or group, I was on my own. I had forgotten what my voice sounded like because of the long silence I've had for 5 years. Everyone knew what I had done but my crime was slightly exaggerated by person to person gossip. To some I murdered a old woman, to others I murdered many. Here in the Florida prison I was a psychopath. Serial killer. Most of all I was silent. Silence labeled me as a dangerous predator, silence carries secrets and mystery. Isolation. My jail cell partner was moved to a different place, no sure why or when it happened. My surrounding are no longer a concern to me, A new man came in. This man was big, at least 6'7'', a African-American male with thick nappy hair and sticky nappy beard. He took the floor bed and didn't look at me. He reached over to his pocket and took out something long. Gold. It was a golden shiny cross and he walked two steps to the wall and hung it from a sharp piece of cement sticking out of it . God. The black man turned around and layed on his bed. The silence was loud. I turned around directly looking at the cross parallel from me . “ Do you believe you will be saved?” the black man said with a horrid deep voice, “ Um, in what?” I responded softly, I was surprised how scratchy my voice was from the lack of use. “Jesus, god , salvation?.” He questioned again. “ No.” This time I responded with a voice I remembered, my own . He began to converse with me about the bible, God and Jesus Christ. I had never heard stories like that in my life, these were different, the had special meanings. Morals. I listened excitedly at everything the black man said. After a long talk he finally mentioned his name was Dean. He said it all with emotion and looked as if he were to cry, he believed that God will save him and that prison is his punishment he deserves. Faith. Dean had lived in the area of Holly hill and he had “Accidentally” been in the place were a woman was killed by gang members. Dean lived in a town with majorly black families, his family was religious. Baptist. Everydayhe prayed that temptation would never cross his path but in his neighborhood he had the worst of people. Me and my sister (I'm 13 she's 16) took a bunch of photos today. I was wearing short shorts and a sweater type thing over a tank top, she was wearing a dress slightly above the knee, a jean jacket, and cowboy boots. They aren't sl**ty poses, but they showed my legs and her boots. We're just smiling, but we feel horrible. Nobody has said they're slutty, but were just afraid of what people might think.
