Voting Question: My father died, were my sisters and I entitled to anything?

Probate Law: My father passed away June 16, 2004. I don't know if he had a will or testament. He and my mother divorced 2 years prior to his death. He was survived by his estranged father as well as his sister. My sisters and I received SS benefits until we turned 18 years old or graduated. My father had a life insurance policy, which we couldn't have been named beneficiaries on because we were never contacted about it. I was young when he passed (17) years old and have since wondered where or to whom the rest of his funds were distributed to. 401K, severance pay, etc...My mother never pursued anything for us, except SS which she took every dime of. We never received anything besides the SS, were we not entitled to any of his estate? His property, his home, his cars? I cannot imagine him ever leaving everything to his father since they had never had a good relationship. I have contacted Anthem and they refused to give me any information as to who made the claim his monies. I also contacted his place of employment for verifiable records to see who had name beneficiaries on anything he left, they say they can't release his file to me either. I can't fathom that my father left us with nothing. This is mind boggling, he loved us alot and he had to have to known that if he named my grandfather as beneficiary, we would have never received anything. He died such a long time ago, is there anything I can do? Any way I can find any information out? Were we entitled to anything at all? We live in Indiana...Could there be a limit on how long you have file a claim on his things? more

Nathan Rodgers Ms. Finamore Honors English II 26 September 2011 Is Anthem a Totalitarianism Government Like Communist China? Totalitarianism is a political system when the state will recognize no limits to its authority and it will strive to regulate all aspect of public and private life whenever possible. Anthem is a totalitarian government because it is like communist China in way of life, punishment, work, and their connection to the outside world. In China people are born into a system where they go to school to learn basic information and they learn to work as a group for the good of the nation and not for the good of the individual. After they graduate from school (the people that were allowed to go) they are told which job they are going to be given. Even if someone was great at woodshop the government would say, “no you are going to be a butcher”. In Anthem, Equality was very gifted at using his mind and would have been perfect working at the house of the scholars, but the elders of the council didn’t care about that. In Anthem the city council was almost like the dictators of China, it wasn’t as bad as in China but they forced them to do jobs and they beat them if they disobeyed their orders. In Anthem, reading to many books is not good if you are not a scholar. “To read too many books is harmful. (Moa Zedong) In China the Communist Party owns all of the property in all provinces of China they ran businesses, the factories and anything that made money. They also controlled the newspaper and closed the borders so people couldn’t leave the country. Any person who made the government upset could end up being sent to a labor camp or have their families killed. In Anthem, people saw god as the city council or elders but Equality found his god was individualism. In China, any religious worship or any attempt to teach a religion was forbidden and was punishable by imprisonment or death. Churches were closed down and turned into museums or storage buildings. Having a Bible or any other religious book was a punishable offence. In Anthem, the council tried to destroy any people or readings that could make people disobey the council. So they burned the books of the Unmentionable Times and murdered anyone who tried to utter words that were related to individualism. In China, Reading newspapers or listening to foreign radio was a very hard thing because to do the government tried jamming the radio stations and screening all newspapers. In Anthem, all people are required to serve in the work force until they become useless when they are sent to the home of the useless to die. In China, all men were forced to do military work and the conditions in the armed forces were hard, People in China were kept quiet about the outside world so they wouldn’t know how bad they were being treated in Communist China. In Anthem, people aren’t paid for what they do but they expect food, bedding and workable conditions, but in Communist China Workers were paid unlivable wages, and they had to live in overcrowded apartments, and were forced to work for free on some days as a donation to the state from the workers. The workers in Anthem didn’t know what was going on and they though they were happy even though they were forced to work for free. In Anthem one of the worst things you can do is to disobey the council, which can be punishable by death or lashing. Some of the people in China try to escape and many do escape to places like the mountains but the government says that the people who escape are killed to instill fear in the people. In Anthem people who misbehave or lie to their authority are sent to the palace of corrective dentition to be punished until they tell the truth. The locks at the palace are weak because prisoners wouldn’t know what to do if they even escaped. In China, prisoners who fail to abide by the nations rules can be forced to do manual labor in work camps or even be shot in the town square. In China, the students are taught how to obey and serve the government in a way that the government approves of so that there is minimal disobedience and maximum amounts of control they can have over the people. “It is a sin to write this. Project Blue Beam claims that NASA is attempting to implement a New Age religion with the Antichrist at its head and start a New World Order, via a technologically-simulated Second Coming. Step One is the breakdown of all archaeological knowledge. This will apparently be accomplished by faking earthquakes at precise locations around the planet. These locations will supposedly have fake "discoveries" to convince humanity that "new discoveries will finally explain to all people the error of all fundamental religious doctrines." This stage will be accomplished, apparently, with the aid of a Soviet computer that will be fed "with the minute physio-psychological particulars based on their studies of the anatomy and electro-mechanical composition of the human body, and the studies of the electrical, chemical and biological properties of the human brain." The computers are also capable of inducing suicidal thoughts. Step Three involves making people think their god is speaking to them through telepathy, projected into the head of each person individually using extreme low frequency radio waves. Step Four has three parts: Making humanity think an alien invasion is about to occur at every major city; Making the Christians think the Rapture is about to happen; A mixture of electronic and supernatural forces, allowing the supernatural forces to travel through fiber optics, coax, power and telephone lines to penetrate all electronic equipment and appliances, that will by then all have a special microchip installed. Then chaos will break out, and people will finally be willing - perhaps even desperate - to accept the New World Order. Ok, not a brief history, I live in southern Minnesota in a town where I was born in and have lived my whole life in. We have always had a large illegal Mexican population in our sanctuary city, but in recent years it has gotten to the point where one in three people are illegal. My house is in a neighborhood where 25 years ago it was a quiet, neatly kept homes, lawn and street full of elderly white retired folks where you were safe to leave your doors unlocked at night. Now it is a loud, run-down, dirty, and dangerous neighborhood full of illegals and resembles a Mexican ghetto! With the exception of my house and property which now resembles a clean and neatly kept home, but also a fenced-in fortress! The fence I put in three years ago after illegal neighbors kept coming onto my property to use my clothesline while I was gone, and damaged my bird-feeders that I hung on, and around the clothesline. Anyways, a six foot chain-link fence with locked gates now surrounds my property, as well as reinforced doors and windows on my house and garage, 16 video surveillance cameras/recorders outside and around my property and 12 inside the house, a panic room/armoury, and of course a home security/alarm system from Broadview Security. All of which I have invested many thousands of dollars on over the years. No way I would still be living here without all this! Ok! About my flag! Every morning I raise my American flag on the 30ft. pole in my front yard, and lower it at dusk. I have done this everyday since 9-11. With few exceptions, weather, blizzards, sick days, ect. All the illegals over the years never gave me a problem about it except for some of them staring at me and the occasional dirty look. The new illegal neighbors that moved in right across the street from me this year are a rowdier group. They come and go at all hours of the day and night, at least twelve people living in a three bedroom house. Many of them sit on couches on their front lawn, drinking beer and playing loud music from dawn until dusk. In the morning some are always out front when I go out to raise my flag, as I do they hoot and holler, catcall and whistle. Which I ignored for a long time, but it grew to really annoy me as it seemed disrespectful to a patriotic moment. So starting a couple months ago I carried out my boombox with a CD of our national anthem "The Star Spangled Banner" and played it as I raised the flag in order to drowned out the whooping and catcalls from across the street. This only riled them up even more and drew more attention to me so I stopped. But it did not end there, none of the men ever did anything and still have not, but starting a few weeks ago they sent over a juvenile, maybe 16 or 17 years old across to harass me, knowing he would likely not get in trouble, and not much I can do as he stays on the public sidewalk and never even touches my fence. He does speak good English, either an anchor baby or he was brought here at a young age. I can't say much good about this kid, as he was raised to be a fierce racist, I cannot even begin to list the racial slurs he has said to me! After all the "You don't belong here man!' and "Go back to Europe" crap, I told the kid to knock it off from now on or I would call the cops on him. And the very next day holes are shot through my flag from a pellet gun. Nothing on my security videos of course, it was shot at from off my property. A few days later I heard more pellet shots and called the police, my flag was undamaged this time and the cops just drove around and left! Lots of help they are! The final straw! The same little jerk shot my flag again last Sunday with a paintball gun and totally ruined it! Again I called the police and nothing was done an no one had seen it happen! Resolved Question: Does anyone else find the American National Anthem absurd?

Much of the American National Anthem ("The Star-Spangled Banner") is just a celebration of blowing people up. That kind of mindless jingoism might make some people proud, but not me. But my favorite part of the Anthem is when it refers to this country as "the land of the free." Screamingly hilarious stuff! The government can take all of your property -- including your life -- any time that it wants for any reason, or no reason at all. That is what people call "freedom." And how about the bit about "the home of the brave"? What self-congratulatory bunk! America is a nation of chickenhawk weenies. Look at all the folks who support Uncle Scam's endless wars, but would never fight in such conflicts themselves. We are hardly "brave" enough to stand up to our rulers. I can already hear people telling me to "love it or leave it." Such commentary only reaffirms what I've already stated. P.S.: I put this in the R&S section because I believe that "patriotism" (which is called "nationalism" when other countries do it) is something like a religion.To the Brits who responded: I think that reasonable people of ALL countries should begin refusing to participate in these "anthems." Why or why not? ABOUT CANADA: Canada is safe, clean, friendly, and more peaceful and internationally-acclaimed than the USA according to most statistical surveys and the United Nations Human Development Index, which ranks Canada higher than the US. I am not Canadian (I'm American) but I like Canada a lot and I want America to have more in common with the Canadians. Otherwise I may want to move to Canada where the quality of life is better and you live longer and healthier. THINGS WE COULD BENEFIT FROM THAT CANADA HAS AND WE DO NOT: 1) UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE: The USA could benefit from universal healthcare with a public option like you have in Canada so that healthcare is free for everybody. 2) LEGALIZE HARVESTED HEMP - I think the USA should legalize the processing of hemp seeds and if it increases the risk of legal marijuana here and there, so what? Why is it so terrible a crime to get high? 3) LOWER DRINKING AGE TO 18-19 INSTEAD OF 21: In Canada, the drinking age in Ontario is 19 and in Quebec it is 18. Why can't it be lowered from 21 in the USA so they learn earlier on to drink responsibly instead of having to have this thing called Fake IDs, what a waste of prison space. In Canada, not worries. 4) BECOME A MOSAIC, NOT A MELTING POT: In the USA, everything is all about melting pot assimilation; everyone is coerced to assimilate into one capitalist culture, instead of embracing the mosaic of international immigrant cultures. Why can't USA embrace diversity the way Canada does? In Canada, diversity is celebrated and there is no forced assimilation. 5) BECOME A BILANGUAL COUNTRY (ENGLISH AND SPANISH) In Canada, there are two official languages (English and French) and in the USA, why can't it be (English and Spanish) since we have large numbers of Mexicans in the Southwestern United States? Why can't we sing our National Anthem in Spanish and English, and make a bilangual US Constitution as well? Instead of English Only? 6) ENGAGE ONLY IN WARS WHEN THE NATION IS THREATENED DIRECTLY: In Canada, the rule of thumb is not to engage in war unless your nation is being threatened. Canadians therefore did not engage in the unnecessary Iraq War. Why can't the US have the same principle before taking on Wars? Wars also are VERY expensive and could better be spent on better education for our children. So why did we fight in Iraq, the Persian Gulf War, Vietnam, and the Korean War? Did these wars seriously save our country from an attack? 7) ELIMINATE HAND GUN OWNERSHIP - SAFER SOCIETY: Due to hand gun ownership, Americans can be shot by drive-by shootings, all kinds of violent crimes due to guns. In Canada, hand guns are not legal and the crime rate is MUCH MUCH MUCH lower. Why can't we eliminate gun ownership in America and work on public safety so nobody needs a gun? The more people have guns, the more they will want to use them, the more violent our society becomes. 8) CONSIDER MORE THAN A 2-PARTY POLITICAL SYSTEM: Why can't we have a multi-party system like the Canadians have? 9) ELIMINATE PRISON SENTENCING FOR TAX EVASION: Why do you go to prison in America for tax evasion? Canada has no prison for failure to pay taxes, instead you just experience bad credit, which is much more sane. Or you have property seized I think, but no tax prison. 10) PROVIDE HEALTHIER BENEFITS FOR WOMEN IN THE WORKPLACE: Why can't the US have one-year maternity leave in the work place for women? Why is it so terrible a crime to get high? 3) LOWER DRINKING AGE TO 18-19 INSTEAD OF 21: In Canada, the drinking age in Ontario is 19 and in Quebec it is 18. Why can't it be lowered from 21 in the USA so they learn earlier on to drink responsibly instead of having to have this thing called Fake IDs, what a waste of prison space. In Canada, not worries. 4) BECOME A MOSAIC, NOT A MELTING POT: In the USA, everything is all about melting pot assimilation; everyone is coerced to assimilate into one capitalist culture, instead of embracing the mosaic of international immigrant cultures. Why can't USA embrace diversity the way Canada does? In Canada, diversity is celebrated and there is no forced assimilation. 5) BECOME A BILANGUAL COUNTRY (ENGLISH AND SPANISH) In Canada, there are two official languages (English and French) and in the USA, why can't it be (English and Spanish) since we have large numbers of Mexicans in the Southwestern United States? Wars also are VERY expensive and could better be spent on better education for our children. So why did we fight in Iraq, the Persian Gulf War, Vietnam, and the Korean War? Did these wars seriously save our country from an attack? 7) ELIMINATE HAND GUN OWNERSHIP - SAFER SOCIETY: Due to hand gun ownership, Americans can be shot by drive-by shootings, all kinds of violent crimes due to guns. In Canada, hand guns are not legal and the crime rate is MUCH MUCH MUCH lower. Why can't we eliminate gun ownership in America and work on public safety so nobody needs a gun? The more people have guns, the more they will want to use them, the more violent our society becomes. 8) CONSIDER MORE THAN A 2-PARTY POLITICAL SYSTEM: Why can't we have a multi-party system like the Canadians have? 9) ELIMINATE PRISON SENTENCING FOR TAX EVASION: Why do you go to prison in America for tax evasion? Canada has no prison for failure to pay taxes, instead you just experience bad credit, which is much more sane. How Did We Ever Survive Our Childhood? My Mom used to cut chicken, chop eggs and spread mayo on the same cutting board with the same knife and no bleach, but we didn't seem to get food poisoning. My Mom used to defrost hamburger on the counter AND I used to eat it raw sometimes too, but I can't remember getting E-coli. Almost all of us would have rather gone swimming in the lake instead of a pristine pool (talk about boring). The term cell phone would have conjured up a phone in a jail cell, and a pager was the school PA system. We all took gym, not PE ... and risked permanent injury with a pair of high top Ked's (only worn in gym) instead of having cross-training athletic shoes with air cushion soles and built in light reflectors. I can't recall any injuries but they must have happened because they tell us how much safer we are now. Flunking gym was not an option ... even for stupid kids! I guess PE must be much harder than gym. Every year, someone taught the whole school a lesson by running in the halls with leather soles on linoleum tile and hitting the wet spot. How much better off would we be today if we only knew we could have sued the school system. Speaking of school, we all said prayers and sang the national anthem and staying in detention after school caught all sorts of negative attention. We must have had horribly damaged psyches. I can't understand it. Schools didn't offer 14 year olds an abortion or condoms (we wouldn't have known what either was anyway) but they did give us a couple of baby aspirin and cough syrup if we started getting the sniffles. What an archaic health system we had then. Remember school nurses? Ours wore a hat and everything. I thought that I was supposed to accomplish something before I was allowed to be proud of myself. I just can't recall how bored we were without computers, PlayStation, Nintendo, X-box or 270 digital cable stations. I must be repressing that memory as I try to rationalize through the denial of the dangers could have befallen us as we trekked off each day about a mile down the road to some guy's vacant 20, built forts out of branches and pieces of plywood, made trails, and fought over who got to be the Lone Ranger. What was that property owner thinking, letting us play on that lot? He should have been locked up for not putting up a fence around the property, complete with a self-closing gate and an infrared intruder alarm. Oh yeah... and where was the Benadryl and sterilization kit when I got that bee sting? I could have been killed! We played king of the hill on piles of gravel left on vacant construction sites and when we got hurt, Mom pulled out the 48 cent bottle of Mercurochrome and then we got our butt spanked. Now it's a trip to the emergency room, followed by a 10-day dose of a $49 bottle of antibiotics and then Mom calls the attorney to sue the contractor for leaving a horribly vicious pile of gravel where it was such a threat. We didn't act up at the neighbor's house either because if we did, we got our butt spanked (physical abuse) there too ... and then we got our butt spanked again when we got home. Mom invited the door to door salesman inside for coffee, kids choked down the dust from the gravel driveway while playing with Tonka trucks (Remember why Tonka trucks were made tough...it wasn't so that they could take the rough Berber in the family room), and Dad drove a car with leaded gas. Our music had to be left inside when we went out to play and I am sure that I nearly exhausted my imagination a couple of times when we went on two week vacations. I should probably sue the folks now for the danger they put us in when we all slept in campgrounds in the family tent. Summers were spent behind the push lawn mower and I didn't even know that mowers came with motors until I was 13 and we got one without an automatic blade-stop or an auto-drive. How sick were my parents? Of course my parents weren't the only psychos. I recall Donny Reynolds from next door coming over and doing his tricks on the front stoop just before he fell off. Little did his Mom know that she could have owned our house. Instead she picked him up and swatted him for being such a goof. It was a neighborhood run amuck. To top it off, not a single person I knew had ever been told that they were from a dysfunctional family. How could we possibly have known that we needed to get into group therapy and anger management classes? We were obviously duped by so many societal ills, that we didn't even notice that the entire country wasn't taking Prozac! more

Did you know that immigrants from Mexico and other non-European countries can come to this country and get preferences in jobs, education, and government contracts. It's called affirmative action or racial privilege. The Emperor of Japan or the President of Mexico could migrate here and immediately be eligible for special rights unavailable for Americans of European descent. Corporate America has signed on to the idea that minorities and third world immigrants should get special, privileged status. Some examples are Exxon, Texaco, Merrill Lynch, Boeing, Paine Weber, Starbucks and many more. DID YOU KNOW? Did you know .. that Mexico regularly intercedes on the side of the defense in criminal cases involving Mexican nationals? Did you know .. that Mexico has NEVER extradited a Mexican national accused of murder in the U.S. in spite of agreements to do so? According to the L.A. Times, Orange County , California is home to 275 gangs with 17,000 members, 98% of which are Mexican and Asian. How's your county doing? According to a New York Times article dated May 19, 1994, 20 years after the great influx of legal immigrants from Southeast Asia, 30% are still on welfare compared to 8% of households nationwide. A Wall Street Journal editorial dated December 5, 1994 quotes law enforcement officials as stat- ing that Asian mobsters are the "greatest criminal challenge the country faces." Not bad for a group that is still under 5% of the population. Is education important to you? Here are the words of a teacher who spent over 20 years in the Los Angeles School system. "Imagine teachers in classes containing 30-40 students of widely varying attention spans and motivation, many of whom aren't fluent in English. Educators seek learning materials likely to reach the majority of students and that means fewer words and math problems and more pictures and multicultural references." WHEN I WAS YOUNG I remember hearing about the immigrants that came through Ellis Island . They wanted to learn English. They wanted to breathe free. They wanted to become Americans. Now, far too many immigrants come here with de- mands. They demand to be taught in their own language. They demand spe- cial privileges ... affirmative action.
