i've got from now until September until i join the Colts, i am a back row player, 6,2 and 191 pounds, i am looking to improve my fitness, improve my strength, bulk up and hopefully maintain or improve my speed. I've got into my colleges academy which play a very high level of rugby (winning the national cup this year as well as 3 other cups) and also i will be playing for a club team at colts as well. Altogether i will be training/playing 6 days a week which is about 14 hours a week. moreOpen Question: Underpayment? without providing training?
i started work exp at this job then they finally offered me an apprenticship, being promised they would provide me with a college course or some sort of training. they offered me it last october and havnt even tried looking. i am on minimum apprenticeship wage around 2.60 something but i need alot more these days for bill issues. Hi guys, I moved from Germany to the Uk. i would like to go the University to become a Dental hygienist.I dont know whether or not my qualifications from Germany are enough to study this course. I already send messages to certain Universities, but no one answered! I am a qualified Dental nurse from Germany. I had a 3 year training. Next to my Dental nurse qualification I also have a qualification called "Advanced technical college". I did both courses at the same time. This qualification is higher than the GCSEs but degraded than A-levels. It takes 13 Years of school to have A-levels and 12 years of school to have the Advanced technical college certificate in Germany. So my school qualification is higher than the uks GCSE, but unfortunately I have an E in math!!:(((( In all other subjects I have marks from B-C. In Germany it is possible to equalize an E with a B in another subject. Do you have this here in the uk as well? So i maybe could Equalize my E in math with the B in english or another B from another subject. Would I need an IELTS certificate to study in the uk. I am a EEA citizen (German) Do you also know who else I can contact to help me? thank you in advance. moreOpen Question: Is quitting my job a bad idea?
I am 20 years old and i am working in a hairdressers. They told me initially that the job was not to be a junior and i would be dealing with customers and the telephone etc, When i started a month ago they got me to clean the toilets, wash clients hair and general cleaning. I get £4 an hour and work 4 days in the week - at the end of each week they sometimes change the amount they give me as well. I had to miss my journalism course at college as i never made it in on time as work wouldn't let me leave an hour early. This amount of money is impossible for me to live on, and i have been told as it isn't training or an apprenticeship it is actually illegal for my age. I cant help but feel bad for wanting to leave, but at the moment i don't even have the time to concentrate on what i want to do with college - or to look for another job. My mum says i'm silly if i quit but im working for next to nothing for what was going to be a telephone job and is now cleaning. Please can someone give me there advice.I don't have a problem with the cleaning but i have seen cleaning jobs for more than £4 an hour, minimum wage for my age is £5 an hour, and as there is no training this IS illegal. moreOpen Question: Is having a migraine an excuse not to go college?

I am a 17 year old guy and i need to lose weight. I want to lose about 20lbs or more depending on what i look like at the end of it. The only problem is... I'M SURROUNDED BY JUNK FOOD! I spend my life with my Girlfriend, she is naturally skinny so she eats anything she wants. She does next to no exercise and still looks beautiful at the end of the day. All i eat is junk because that is all i can get my hands on - its either that or nothing. I go running and cycling sometimes, but daily, i do virtually no exercise due to traveling to college and back. Its 30 miles away so i go by train. I am too tired to do anything after i get back. What should i do? I need to lose weight, but i cant stay focused. help please? moreOpen Question: Is this name suitable for a dog?
Hello :) Some time in the future, when I finish college, I plan to get a dog. This dog will be trained for performance on TV and/or film. I chose a name I like and that does not sound like any command I will be using when training him (I plan on getting a male). I wanted to call him "Einstein", I really like the name, and like I said, it sounds like no command will be using so he cannot mix it up with anything, but I fear maybe the sound of it may be hard for the dog to pick up? Thoughts? Thanks :)He won't be just for Film and TV, he will also be a very much beloved pet. I lost my dad an dogs seem to help keep my depression away. I thought if I trained him to perform, it would help keep his mind busy, which also reduces unwanted behavior. He'd also be living with a husky/GS cross breed to run with and play. But he goes to Spain with his owner a lot so he isn't always around to cuddle. He won't be just for Film and TV, he will also be a very much beloved pet. See I Kept In touch with a girl from uni as I have talked to her on facebook chat and posted a few jokes on her wall and I phoned her up a while back and she said to go down to hers to have a sleepover with her and another female friend I knew from uni and I thought that it might be an experience as I have never had a sleepover With a female friend and I am kinda interested to know where the conversation would go, I've slept over at a male friend's house after a night of drinking, watching films listening to music and getting drunk but not a female firend!!! As one time back in college years ago I was invited for a sleepover by a female class mate and turned her down and later on a few months down the line regretted it as I always thought what would we have talked about {as what does a female talk to you about as opposed to a male if you sleep over at their place for the night - with you and her = does it get philosophical}, as experience is the fruit of life = what makes life interesting, without experiences life is fruitless!!! And see I don't know whether to get in touch with the other female friend when they're not busy to arrange a sleepover or Just to leave it = as what if it's not really all that interesting and we run out of things to talk about?I would have to catch a train to go down there and arrange it when they're not busy and I'm not busy!!! But at the same time I made a list of things to do before I'm 30 = and on the list I said to socialize more and take more risks, what should I do = go left or go right? Hey, 17 year old guy here :P I've asked this before..it's just I didn't feel satsfied with previous answers I've received. Essentially, for the past few months I have seen this beautiful girl at my train station. I've been a little ***** about it and I've done nothing all this time...we've only really exchanged glances. I have 3 weeks until I finish college and I want to speak to her before it's too late..even if it would have ended up going nowhere..I know I will regret it :/ I am a bit unsure on a few things: 1. What to say to her to start the convo. I'm often told..."ask her what the time is"...but cmon..we're at a train station..there's clocks everywhere...so please don't say that. I'm not really into pointless small talk regardign the weather or whatever... I was up for just doing a simple "hey my name's _____..I see you here often and I just wanted to say hi"...but my mate told me that would sound creepy...so I don't knwo anymore. I don't want anything too complex and over planned...just something simple. 2. What will she think that I haven't spoken to her all these months? Won't she think "why has he waited so long?" 3. I have moderate acne..I do loads to try and cure it. I'm currently on treatment from my doc..but that'll take some time to cure. I do lose a bit of self esteem from some of the red marks..and I'm worried she'll instantly reject me in her mind because of them. So, I'd really appreicate some advice on what I can dooo. Thanks, moreOpen Question: How do I become a Veterinary Nurse?

Okay so theirs a lad I've like for a while now, and a few months ago we told each other that we liked each other and started getting really close and then he told me a while after he had a girl friend but he really liked me and he didn't know what to do.. As a result we ended up having and argument and not talking for a while but as I see him one week in college it was hard for us to not talk so we were just friends Then recently we've started to get close again and the first thing we I asked when we got close was about his girlfriend and he told me he had broken up with her shortly after we had the argument, we used to be quite close in college and always talking to each other and hed Always grab my leg with his foot and put it between his, now we're texting everyday and on the phone every night, we even talk on skype and things and he says he likes me but in college theirs another girl, and yeah I know he's quite a flirt but since we said we like each other he's been really flirtatious with her and he hardly speaks to me during the day now, he knows I get quite jealous as I text him afterwards but he still does it :/ He also says he would get with me and wants to but because he lives quite far away it would mean him getting a 45 minute train every weekend costing him quite a lot... He makes like little promises like he's said when he can drive he'll come to me every weekend and drive me anywhere, but the way he acts around this other girl I think he likes her and when I ask him about it he gets pissed off that I ask, but I know she likes him and I don't really trust her to not do anything... :/. I dunoo what to do tbh moreResolved Question: How to become a paediatrician?

I'm 16 years of age, im hoping to become a jockey, i have too weigh under 11stone for NORTHEN racing college, i currently weigh 10 stone, i'd liked to reach around 9 and a half, I'm not really sure of the foods i should and shouldn't be eating up until september to control my weight, id like a diet plan, but it'd really help if i knew where to begin with what to eat and what not to eat, during in college we have to do physical exercises, for example, swimming, gym , fitness training, 3 times a week up until the 12th week of me leaving college, I'm currently going to the gym on a week-end to get my fitness levels up, drinking plenty of water, but im really strugaling on the eating side of things. Thanks. moreResolved Question: GSD question................?
I've wanted a dog since I was around 10, I'm now 16, so I've had plenty of time to do substancial research. My mum has agreed and as soon as she receives her pay increase in July, we are going to get a German shepherd. As I'm 16, I'm in the middle of my gcses and finish them on may 20th. I'm not asking this question to be discouraged by people, I've researched everything I need to know and then some, I've volunteered at rescue organisations and have considered a rescue dog, I also clean the house for my mum and provide food etc for my cat through my part time job. I'll get said puppy around July, and will go to college in mid September, for three days a week (8am-4pm) providing the dog has substancial exercise and somebody come in around noon to walk him/her, would this be fair on the dog? We live in a semi-detached home with a reasonably sized garden. I am aware that GSD's need to be socialised properly, and so I've saved up for obedience classes and am aware I need to get the dog as used to as many sounds and sights as possible. I have an exercise and training schedule planned out and realise too much exercise puts stress on the joints. I know that many people think these dogs are not for first time owners, but surely an owner that researches before jumping in is a better alternative? I don't have any doubts about looking after the dog, but I'm just worried that the dog will not be happy. Any thoughts? Advice? Thanks in advance.I have 3 years of college, the second and third years i will be doing an apprenticeship with flexible timings, so not to worry. After that i will go into a full time plumbing job and will work around that at the time.GSD - German shepherd dogGCSE's - General Certificate of Secondary Education: the basic level of a subject taken in school :) moreResolved Question: How can I get a man on the train to leave me alone?
For about 5 weeks now a man I see at the train station on the way to college 3 mornings a week persistently talks to me and invades my private space. He started by chatting me up and trying to flirt and even asked me out for a drink to which i politely declined as I am in a relationship to which I thoroughly explained to him. I was polite at first but after a while it became to much and I am now very short in my replies to him and hoping that he will get the message (which he never does) It has got to the stage now that I dread going to the station because of him. He is a 'geeky' man wears glasses and has terrible social skills and I dont wish to be mean to him but at 7 am in the morning I don't want to be having to deal with him. I feel uncomfortable by his presence and I feel that he has still not got the message that I have a boyfriend and i want to be left alone. Last week he made me read a book he is writing even though I clearly explained to him that I had an exam that day and didnt want to think about anything else. It may seem stupid to some people but sometimes I make myself late for college by getting the later train just to avoid him and Its gotten me in trouble. I just need to know what to do and how to get him of my case in a not too much of a confrontational way ??? moreVoting Question: F-1 Student Visa Q's?

Heya, 17 year old guy here..... Every day at my train station I see this beautiful girl. I'm going to talk this her . However, I was just wondering something.. I've seen her for the past 5 months or so, but I have always been too shy to say hi or anything. We've often exchanged glances, but I just wondering if she'll mind that I left it for so long. I finish college in a few weeks, so I really don't have much more time until I won't see her again. Won't she be thinking..."why didn't he say hi beforehand"? Yeah..I'd appreciate some useful answers. Many thanks, :) moreResolved Question: What makes you feel better when you feel miserable for no reason?
I have depression and am on medication but lately I go up and down so quickly that it hits me like a train. When I am with a friend, I can have a good time and it's like nothing is wrong, but when they go, I go back to my shell and just get irritable and down. It is hard to solve a problem when you don't know the cause. Obviously, I know my depression is part but there must be something else? I don't know. I missed over a week of college recently and can't miss anymore. I'd appreciate answers from people with experience of what I mean.I have been on my pills for quite a while. I have researched bi-polar and I also believe that is what is wrong but nobody will give me the time of day to listen or believe me :-/ If you are Bipolar - how and why did you get diagnosed? What did they do after the diagnosis? Also - please answer the actual question "What makes you feel better..." moreResolved Question: Will a Royal Marine Reserve definately get Deployed?
Im joining the RMR on wednesday as long as i pass my Fitness Test and Theory Test, I really want to be deployed to Afghanistan (if its still on when i finish my training) or somewhere like Afghan, anyway im going to college in september and i cant join the normal Marines so i was wondering if the reserves definately get deployed? Thanks moreResolved Question: I've lost my taekwondo match. Very frustrated!?
Yesterday, there is a taekwondo tournament. I've lost. But the more frustrating is, i couldn't get any point during the match! The final score is 12-0. Previous tournament, i fought with the people from military college and i've lost 14-0. And badly, i;ve had to fight with the previous opponent teammate. We're fighting for the bronze medal (Makes me more upset not winning this match) The more bad thing is, both of them are not fighting aggresively like the boys from their college. Their level is acceptable for me, but i couldn't score any! During that time my master are in charged as a referee in my match. He looks really angry when i losing so much score. However, i'm really frustrated with my instructor. During we're on training, he never came but during the match, he always wants us to win. If some of us not winning the match, he will get angry. We always practicing kicking, running, a bit of technique and didn't practicing real sparring during classes.. I frustrated with my team mates too.. They're not really supportive of me and didn't respect me as a senior in university. During my school years, i always won some medal. But now, in university level, i've lost 2 times in a row with both zero marks. Whenever i think about it, i felt really frustrated, want to scream and break something. The team that i fought with must think i'm as a weakling and i felt humiliated. I'm going to graduate soon, so yesterday university tournament is the last one for me. Currently, I felt like i'm the worst and i don't want to enter sparring anymore. Sometimes, i'm thinking to learn karate and leaving taekwondo. Maybe tkd is not for me :( moreResolved Question: What does everyone think of Bianca's storyline in Eastenders?
I'm a struggling single mom of 2, I dont get a penny from their dad and I know how hard it is but I still think they go way over the top with Bianca. She sent Ricky away and chose to be a single mom, he didnt just up and leave her. What I really don't understand is that she is living in 21st century Britain and I know even in this day and age and in this country it can still be very unkind being a single mom but why the hell did Bianca choose to struggle in endless amount of part time dead end jobs not being able to afford to support her family although that was the idea of it and get into debt by taking out loans in order to feed her kids? Why didnt she claim that she was single when Ricky left, claim income support, child tax credits, housing and council tax benefits etc, put away her child benefit money for her children, start a college course or training part time and build a career for herself? I know there are a lot of people who call it "sponging" and dont agree with people claiming benefits but to be honest I dont see anything wrong with it. The government pays this money out for a reason and as long as you are trying to build a life for yourself and your kids. It beats not being able to feed your kids and getting into debt with loan sharks and isnt that a lot more realistic situation anyway?Yeah Bianca does get child benefit because when Zainab was running the post office she went in there for the child benefit money. God knows what she was spending it on!@ Son Jay Bianca should have knocked Lucy Beale the f**** out! I wish someone would anyway! She has always irritated the hell out of me, they should have left Lucy Beale where she was instead of bringing in another person to play her. moreVoting Question: Becoming a motorcycle and car mechanic?
I want to move to north Africa and create a garage and dealership with a brother. I have good A-levels and want to start training as a mechanic. What is the best route? As for college courses it seems I should do motorcycle maintenance diploma level 2 and then vehicle technology btec level 3. (Based on courses available in my area). Don't know what the market is like for apprenticeships. Wondering if there are courses above college level though because I'm worried they'll drag on really slow and I should be able to handle something a bit more demanding? moreResolved Question: So my mom says "I will not be signing the RAF papers", what now?
OK so i'll tell you the reason she says for, she claims she needs me too stay at home in college so she continues to get child tax credit from the government and can pay for the house. (before you think it, we're not benefit scrounging scums my mom works full time). So she says she will not be signing the papers! Money is tight and tough, we're technically in poverty becuase of the lack of income coming in the house balanced with the cost of living. So I understand.... ANYWAY, I argue that I can send her money from my wages, she's like NO i need the money as to do with my Tax payments BLAH BLAH F#CKING BLAH!!! Always been my Ambition to join the RAF and Im joining the RAF Regiment as a Gunner, and I want too THIS YEAR no matter what. I cannot wait until I am 18 as its next year. If she refuses to sign it when I present her with the papers, I am planning to threaten her, prevent her from leaving the room, maybe forcley making her sit down and sign?? I know it sounds bad, but theres no way my mom is stopping me, I have been training and preparing for this for years..... Do you have any other ideas that I can do too solve this problem. ThanksNote I put a similar question to this, but this is more detailed and explains the situationDavid E- nope cannot wait, I cannot just simply sit at home for 1 year....waiting. Becuase if she dosent sign It I will refuse to go back into education. I hate college and that nasty town its situated in, I hate living in poverty, I hate being the worst one in my class at football as Im doing sports. I just want to live my dream, now. Me and my boyfriend are both currently at college and as you know we have literally one month left until all of our A level exams. Now since he is in second year and does musical theatre he has grad show rehearsals everynight from 9am-8:30pm every day monday - thursday! And on fridays he works for his mum. As you can imagine im going to be spending most of my week day evenings doing revising so im going to be busy aswell so we literally only have the weekend to spend together. Now some weekends he has hockey training and some weekends we have the odd party/gathering here and there so even then were gonna be trying to find ways to see eachother. Its not even asif we live that close either! We live a train distance apart. This is only going to be happening for 3-4weeks so once all of our exams and that are over then we will have lots more time to spend with eachother but weve been speaking about whether it would be better to split? An then get back together once that time is up but i just dont know what to do. I like him to much to do that but whats a relationship if your not going to see one another? I'm currently travelling so when I return home I have to decide what sort of work or career I would like to go in to. What is the pay like as well? Thanks for any feedback :D x moreResolved Question: Is it worth doing an NCTJ?
The National Council for the Training of Journalists offers a proper qualification. It's a distance course. I'm currently at college studying print media, which I then hope to use to get into University next year to do Journalism. I think I'll have to choose one or the other. Should I drop out and do the NCTJ, or continue with my current course? moreResolved Question: Should i meet a online friend?

Morning, My employer has decided to buy me a distance learning course, so he doesnt have to lose me for a day at college a week. My question is do I have to do this in my own time? Thanks Jim (uk) moreResolved Question: Need to start a veterinary nurse trainee practice..?
I am planning to start a college for veterinary nursing in September (fingers crossed) and apparently I need to start getting experience from a vet training practice (TP) first, I can start anytime. Do you think I should just go there myself and ask straight away if they'd train me or should I do it more formal way - call, make an appointment (a bit like a job interview)??? I'm really not sure. Also, would this early experience already count into my Practical training hours required by the college I m planning to go to in September? (they say I will need 2,100 hours of employment in an approved training practice). Or is it just to help me to get to the college at first place? Any help much appreciated! ;) moreResolved Question: Vet nursing - when/how to start the training?
Hi, I decided to start course as a veterinary nurse this year (hopefully) - I found and contacted a college in the chosen area, sent them my qualifications (I'm not from the UK). They said that first I need to become employed within an approved training practise and then they would set an informal interview (to test my English etc.). What I'm asking is: How do I apply for the veterinary nurse practice and how long before the course starts (September)?? I would be very grateful if somebody (preferably with this experience) could explain this to me a bit further, how it works you know. Also, I'm pretty sure this training is not paid so I will need a part time job while studying, anyone with this experience? Thank you! :) p.s. I don't know if this makes any difference for the training now, but I am not living in the town of my chosen college yet (I'm going to move within few months, early enough to start the course). moreResolved Question: Help- what to do regards my education?
This is my situation: I've just turned 23 and I haven't been to college or Uni. I studied for my GCSE's in UK only took half of them as my mother is a Jehovah's witness and I was forced to go on a holiday to one of their yearly conferences, this conference was at the exact time I should have been doing the Second half of my exams. So now my results are mostly e grades because I could only complete half of the exams (they should have been C's and B's- that's what I got in provisional exams). That was problem 1. Problem two is this: I can't study at college or uni because I can't afford it. My Dad although wealthy will not pay for my education unless I go to agricultural school to become a farmer so I can take over his farm in germany.(I have no interest in this as I would make a terrible farmer, I want to study business , I'm very business minded, I've started lots of small businesses, some have failed, some haven't) He has even written in his will that if I don't go to agricultural college in germany by the time I'm 30 He doesn't want me to inherit the farm. I've tried to get on a college course in the uk lots of times but have always had to cancel because I can't live on nothing, I have to work full time to keep a roof over my head and food in my belly, also the only evening classes they offer are for business administration but no in depth business courses. What should I do? The only way Im getting trained at the moment is by reading lots of books on business and trying out new small business ventures all though most of them fail. Thanks for Reading moreResolved Question: Advice on my life? Boxing, girlfriend, time management?
Right, im 17, i go to college, i work on weekends, amount of shifts vary and the days vary, sometimes get days off.. I used to box over a year ago, stopped because i broke my hand punching someone in the face, got with this girl, fell in love, had the best year ever with her, we love eachother, but i have a passion for boxing, i love it, i want to return to it... But this will mean I have less time to spend with my girl as i will be in training for an hour in the evenings of monday wednesday and friday, which is why she is unhappy about it, will barely have free time on weekends either, need some advice or solutions :( she isnt happy about it, quitting my job isnt really an option because i wont be able to afford paying for going out or clothes ect... moreVoting Question: Does he like me? Or am I being silly? HELP :(?
I met this guy on a train a month ago and he was going home and i was just going out for the day on my own as i was dealing with some personal issues with a very ill friend. He was really really nice and we chatted all the way there, I ended up spending the day with him and he made me laugh which was something I hadn't done in a while. He gave me his number and since then we've met up 4 times he only lives a half an hour journey away. We have kissed and got to know each other, theres still a whole load he doesnt know eg past heartbreaks and ill friend and theres things I don't know about him but the chemistry between us is undeniable. I was with him a couple of days ago and I noticed in his wallet that hes kept the train ticket from when we first met and i was really happy because i'd kept mine to so we giggled about it. He text me after I'd got on my train home saying ''Was lovely seeing you today xxx'' Which was cute because hes never said that before. He talks about stuff we'll do and places we'll go when i next see him. I really want to see him this week because I'm back at college next week so it'll be hard to find time:( My questions are: Do you think he likes me or am i just reading all the wrong signals? How should i ask him to see him this week? WHY DID HE KEEP HIS TICKET (that ones been driving me crazy) Yes this is how desperate for answers I have become, my bestfriend is on holiday :( Ps, I'm 17 and Hes 19 moreResolved Question: How to start a vet nurse training?

Firstly, I would like to say I would only like serious answers, and the narcissism is unintentional. I will start with a little background about myself in the hope you'll be able to answer my questions. I never really got many formal qualifications from my high school and I dropped out of college before my exams. Despite that, the interviewers from various work placements, etc. apparently saw that I was bright enough to catch up with any work and very 'switched on'. I currently work in a Pharmacy and I am training to be a nurse (however I consider quitting), but I would love to go back to and basically just start again, finish some GCSEs and move onto A levels then go on to perhaps something better. The reason i'm writing this now is I fear that i'll will have a repeat of what happened before, I got bored and left. I THINK that anything in my life which is going good, I intentionally disrupt it in order to make it interesting for myself. For example, I quit an amazing Academy Sixth Form, called my mum and she went ballistic at me, panicking about what i'm going to do with my life but then the next day I walked into a sixth form on the other side of town and was accepted after speaking to the principal for five-ten minutes. I quit after three weeks after telling the teachers I thought their teaching methods were a bag a rubbish only to move on to another college, again being accepted, and do the exact same thing! I've always been praised on my ability whether I consider myself to be good or bad at a certain subject, but this lack of effort on my behalf has got me thinking, and actually a little worried. Since I was younger i've gotten bored with something or i've felt i've learnt enough and left what ever I was doing. I've tried getting advice from friends, past teachers, etc. But, to me, they never feel like the right answers. I either get told ' You're smart, you'll know what you want to do!' or the answer will take the route that it took when I had this conversation with my past french teacher who basically yelled at me for missing 80% of classes and still passing my class, 'you're wasting your intelligence, just pick something and get on with it, we all have!' I've got no direction in life right now, nothing holds my attention for very long but it's like there's a part of me that wants to start from scratch and try with something to finally test my ability to the fullest. Though I fear i'll leave without a second thought.... So my question is, what do you recommend that will help me out of this self destructive behaviour and finally do something meaningful with my life? moreVoting Question: What is the best way to become a fitness instructor in the UK?
I've explored a lot of the websites offering "nationally recognised" qualifications, and I know that major gyms like Fitness First and the YMCA, as well as City Colleges etc. offer courses.
